Daddy Daughter Dance to Benefit Relay for Life and CASA

The Salem Rotary Club will be hosting a Daddy Daughter Dance to benefit Relay for Life and CASA. The event will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Southern Hills Church in Salem, IN.

The night is surely to delight! With the theme of “An Enchanted Evening”, this event will be the perfect wrap up to your February—filled with fun fit for a Princess. Tickets are $25.00 per couple, with $5 for each additional daughter that attends. In addition to wonderful music and dancing, guests will receive a professional 5x7 photo of Dad and Daughter so that their wonderful memories of the evening can be “Frozen” in time. Refreshments will be served, and wonderful door prizes will be given away throughout the evening.

“This is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with that special girl in your life,” stated Rosie Morehous, Youth First Director and fellow Rotarian. “In our small, rural community we do not have many opportunities to have a fancy evening out—and certainly not on a budget! This dance will be a chance for families to dress up, spend some quality family time together, and benefit some very special causes in our community.”

Relay for Life is an event that allows communities to come together to honor cancer survivors, remember lost loved ones, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The second beneficiary of “An Enchanted Evening” will be CASA—or the Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes in the nest interests of children.

“These groups were chosen for our benefit because we know how important these issues are in our community,” said Kim Misamore of Old National Bank and the Rotarian Event Chair. “Cancer is something that has impacted everyone at some time, and having a professional advocate for children in need is something we, as Rotarians, feel strongly about.” With high hopes that the community will come out to enjoy and support this event, Misamore felt that the proceeds will be something very helpful to two important causes that serve Washington County.

Dress for the evening has been recommended as “Sunday Best,” but there are no strict guidelines on attire. T-shirts are available for purchase, and will say “My Date Rocked” to capture the evening’s sentiment. Door prizes include items such as a round of golf, cart included, for 4 at Western Hills, tickets to Big Splash Water Park, Derby Dinner Playhouse, and the Taylor Swift concert at the KFC Yum Center! Other gift basket and gift certificates will be up for grabs too.

“Daddies and Daughters of all ages are welcome, and encouraged to come,” said Misamore. “Some of the activities will be geared more towards elementary aged daughters, but there will be fun and comradery for all—regardless of age.”

Families interested in attending can get your tickets at Loy & Fordyce, Country Cookin’, Old National Bank, or by contacting your local Rotarians. Tickets purchased on or before February 14th, 2015 could have an edge in door prize drawings!
